“Together, we can make sure that Guelph recovers from the pandemic and make the investments that will help families here live their best lives.”
James Parr loves Guelph.
He was born, raised and educated in this city, and is now thrilled to represent Guelph provincially.
James has experienced the impact of the pandemic first hand, having faced a pandemic layoff and watched loved ones face burnout and financial hardship. He’s determined to help Guelph bounce back and make it a better place for people to live, work and raise a family.
James is passionate about three key issues: housing availability and affordability, particularly for renters, first-time home buyers and young families; climate change action and holding corporations responsible for their impact; and, proactive access to mental health services for all.
James knows that his job is to ultimately represent the concerns of the citizens of Guelph and looks forward to engaging and listening to what causes are close to the hearts of his fellow Guelph-ites.
NDP MPP Catherine Fife (Waterloo)
“James is exactly the type of person we need representing Guelph at Queen’s Park. He’s faced the impacts of this pandemic and know what it’s going to take for families to recover. He’s focused on better services and more affordability for working people, and real supports for small, local businesses. With James on our team, we’ll get to work fixing the things that matter most, like long-term care, hospital wait times, and making sure families can afford to live and thrive in Guelph.”
James Parr, NDP Candidate for Guelph
“The people of Guelph have been through a lot in the past few years and we deserve a government that works to makes our lives better. I’m committed to making rent and housing affordable, improving access to mental health services and holding corporations accountable for their impact on the environment. I look forward to representing Guelph and working with Andrea Horwath and the NDP to bring real change to this riding. Together, we can make sure that Guelph recovers from the pandemic and make the investments that will help families here live their best lives.”
